It’s Almost Here!

We are only 12 days away from Fes2val 2011. Get your rock pants on.

Back Alley Knife Show

After parting ways with Ozenza in April 2010, Krystal Lenhart packed up her Nord Electro 2 and took it home…. where after a bit of poking at it, it sat. Un-noisy. That was until reuniting with Josh Stacey (Ozenza/Apostles), in the early Spring of 2011, when the 2 had a great idea of making music together that would sound massively brutal… without guitars.

Between Brains

A dude with drums, a dude with a guitar, singin’ together and making music the way we like it; gettin’ all sessy wit’ it.

Boy With Mace

Alt-Experimental Rock Band, Boy With Mace, is composed of Vincent Persichetti and Aaron Mace. Formed in 2008, Vincent joined Aaron’s former 5-piece collaboration, Circuit Scene, to play lead guitar. After that band fell apart, Vincent and Aaron realized they didn’t need a bassist, a rhythm guitarist, or even a vocalist to experiment with sound. And since then they’ve been writing tunes and playing live shows!

Charles The Osprey

The duo of Derek Lancioni & Rafael Ohli takes the idea of mathy, heavy songwriting, incorporates quick but understandable transitions, and weaves in a little catchy tapping to create songs that don’t leave your head for days, despite the lack of vocals. With comparisons to Don Caballero, This Town Needs Guns, Russian Circles and Minus the Bear, Charles is constantly evolving, from their obtuse EP “Belongings”, to the carefully crafted debut LP “Consider”, and soon-to-be-released collaborations with a myriad of artists spanning many genres, they show no signs of slowing down.

Good News

Hi, we’re Good News. We’re from Kalamazoo, MI. We got started playing music about 15 months-ago, as an all improvasational band. We improvised around for a few months, without any real “sound” coming through the vibrations. We began writing songs after a few months of being Good News and then mixed improvised music with our actual songs. As more time passed and we wrote more and more, we found that our written material provided, as I said, a more creative outlet for our emotions and cut the improv from our set. We’ve since played around Southwest Michigan.  THANKS.

Jowls

Jowls is Ryan Martin and Jeff Kraus, 2 dudes giggin’ hard from Grand Rapids, Michigan, we strongly believe in having a good time, all the time. “Music isn’t about buying bread, music is about eating bread. It is about holding it in your hand, and smelling it, …and tasting it. It is about it.” GET RUDE, FUCK THE HYPE, FUCK THE BULLSHIT.

Lost Coves

Venturing into the great wide Weird, Lost Coves has successfully bridged the Heavy and Indie worlds to create a wide open spectrum of psychedelia stitched together by tense and introspective moments of true character and personality. Like second nature, the drum and bass duo crash through the gates with giant reverberating riffs and odd rhythms, only to tragically break your heart by song’s end. They certainly keep it interesting- familiar but always adventurous.

Stagnant Pools

Bloomington drone psych rockers … Kinda like Walker Bros singing over Guided By Voices strung out on trucker speed, but way prettier and not really like that at all. Stagnant pools is a two-piece shoegaze/postpunk band consisting of brothers Doug and Bryan Enas. They create a wall of sound that is both grooving and ethereal. Bryan’s reserved vocals emanate just below the level of noise that is created by the combination of fuzzed-out guitar and on-point drum bears in such a way that they sometime register as a very in-place hum that adds to the overall sound.

The Kincaids

“FROM EVERY ACT OF PLEASURE COMES AN EQUAL ACT OF PERVERSION….” the story of two men, immoral and indulged. Satisfying their weird, warped desires, these are… The Kincaids. Tainted with sex, liquor and drugs, what else drives them in their crazed pursuit of kicks? ROCK & ROLL has provided the answer. The Kincaids are a two man rock band that have been breaking hearts and blowing minds at every mud bog and tractor pull this side of the mississippi. Known for their live shows that usually result in the venue looking like a warzone, The Kincaids provide an experience for the mind and eyes that has to be heard to be believed.lock your liquor cabinets and arm yourselves to the teeth…..be a part of the counter culture….. Claude Kincaid – bass & vocals, Clyde Kincaid – drums & vocals.

Whee!

Whee!! is two dudes with a penchant for math rock and beer geekery who’ve been making music together for the past 10 years. Whee combines the crushingly slow with the fast and frantic to produce a unique blend of rock that relates a lot of feeling for just drums and a bass.
